Frequently Asked Questions

How can a doctor diagnose a cold or the flu without seeing me in person?

Our providers use a detailed medical intake form designed to capture the specific nature of your symptoms, your medical history, and any "red flag" indicators. By analyzing the duration of your symptoms, the presence of body aches, and the nature of your cough or congestion, our clinical team can safely determine if you are a candidate for asynchronous treatment or if an in-person physical exam is necessary for your safety.

What kind of medications do you prescribe?

Depending on your symptoms and history, your provider may prescribe antiviral medications for early-stage flu, professional-strength cough suppressants, or suggest specific over-the-counter treatments to manage your recovery.

How long does service take?

You will receive a response from a provider within 4 hours, though it is often much faster.

How do I choose my pharmacy?

During the intake process, you will be able to search for and select any pharmacy that is convenient for you. We can send prescriptions to all major chains and local independent pharmacies.

What if the doctor decides they can't treat me online?

Your safety is our priority. If your provider determines that your symptoms require a physical exam, chest imaging, or immediate in-person attention, they will let you know via the dashboard and provide guidance on seeking care. In these cases, you will not be charged the consultation fee.

Can I use this service for my child?

Currently, Zalud is only available for adults aged 18 and older. Because respiratory symptoms in children can escalate quickly and often require a physical exam to check lung sounds, we recommend seeing a pediatrician for anyone under 18.

Will this cover the cost of my medication?

The $39 fee covers your medical evaluation and the creation of your treatment plan by a Zalud provider. It does not include the cost of the medication at the pharmacy. If you have insurance, you can use it at your local pharmacy to pay for the prescription.
