Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for online treatment?

This service is available to adults ages 18–64 who meet the clinical criteria for treatment. If you are enrolled in Medicare, you may not use Zalud Health for medical services that are covered by your Medicare plan. Federal regulations limit our ability to provide these services to patients enrolled in this program. We recommend seeking care from a provider who participates in your health plan. Eligibility may also depend on your symptoms, medical history, and the severity of your condition. If online care isn’t appropriate for you, your provider will let you know and recommend the appropriate next steps.

How can a doctor evaluate a UTI without seeing me in person?

Our providers review a detailed medical intake form covering symptoms such as burning when you urinate, frequent urges to go, or pressure in the lower abdomen. Based on established clinical guidelines, they can evaluate your symptoms and medical history to determine whether treatment is appropriate, as long as there are no signs of a more complicated infection.

What kind of medications do you prescribe for a UTI?

If treatment is appropriate, your provider may prescribe an antibiotic to treat the infection and send the prescription directly to the pharmacy you choose. They may also recommend over-the-counter options to help relieve pain, burning, or discomfort while treatment begins to work.

How long does the service take?

A provider will review your medical intake within 4 hours, though it is often much faster. If treatment is appropriate, your prescription will be sent electronically to your chosen pharmacy.

What if the doctor decides they can't treat me online?

Your safety is our priority. If you have fever, chills, back or side pain, severe nausea, or other symptoms that may indicate a more complicated infection, you may need an in-person evaluation or additional testing. If our providers determine that online care is not appropriate for you, they will guide you on the next steps and your consultation fee will be refunded.

Will this cover the cost of my medication?

The $39 fee covers your medical consultation, provider review, and treatment plan. It does not include the cost of medication at the pharmacy. You can use your insurance, a prescription discount card, or pay out of pocket at the pharmacy.

When do you offer refunds for online visits?

If your provider determines that you need to see a specialist or seek emergency care instead, we’re happy to provide a full refund for your visit.
